Introduction

If you want to know how to get data from the database, but you do not know what to begin with, then this book is intended for you. If you are not familiar with SQL language or even if you are a database specialist, then we hope that it will be of interest for you to test your knowledge level.

The goal of this book is quick study of SQL language. In this particular case «quick» does not mean «superficial». To the contrary, leaving alone many aspects of the language, I try to give thorough understanding of logical structure of data and, as a result, to give the idea of correct form of query taking into account structure. On top of that, we strongly believe, that reading of this book will contribute to understanding of the problems, which are outside the scope of this work.
